What should I know?

This site showcases therapeutic professionals offering English language services in Germany. Some may offer services in German or in other languages as well. Clicking on individual professional member's profiles will help you find more information about them and link to their individual websites.

Each professional in this Collective understands intuitively the process and experience of immigration and expatriation, whether short or long term. This platform in an endeavor to provide one space for those looking to connect with service providers in a language and cultural context that feels relatable. It is in tandem a space for therapeutic professionals, who themselves have expatriated, to connect with a community of peers who can offer guidance and support in navigating professional life abroad. This is a space to lift one another up.

This Collective acts solely as a connector and is therefore limited, unable to answer specific questions about availability, suitability or services offered directly. We however do hope that this platform can help match you with a professional who can support you with what you are looking for! This is a journey we are all on.

Qualifications & Police checks

Before service providers join the TherapyCollective.de they are required to provide evidence of their qualifications, professional registration and local police clearance documentation before they can become a professional member.

It is good practice for all providers working with children or vulnerable adults to apply for new police clearance documents every two years. If a provider is working with children in a school, the school will always require a copy of an up-to-date police certificate to be kept on their files.

Professional therapeutic service providers should also maintain an ongoing record of their continuous learning and reflections. Many international accreditation organizations require evidence of continuous learning to maintain professional registration. However, there is no international standard and the Therapy Collective does not have the capacity to confirm nor monitor whether each member has taken all necessary steps to maintain current practice standards in line with their training, registration, recognition or accreditation. We believe that the fact that each member has sought to be a part of this multidisciplinary community within which they can grow and learn is a good sign yet emphasize that each client must confirm for themselves the standards that they wish their professional relationship to hold.

Disclaimer:

While we screen and verify members' qualifications and maintain regular communication with them, we cannot guarantee any therapeutic professional's suitability for your specific needs. We recommend checking professional registrations on individual therapeutic professionals' websites before engagement. Members typically hold registration with boards in their country of origin, and some may have additional registration in Germany.
